My mom was sage. She had all these things she said, and drilled them into our head while growing up. Sometimes I thought she was a little nuts. In my adult years “Jackie’s rules” keep popping up. They are a strength that I use daily to see me through the tough times:
“To each is own”, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, “It’s not about winning; it’ss about playing the game”, “Someone has to loose”, “All I can ask s that you do your best”, “I always know what you have done”, “We love you kids equally” …..there are many more. God has blessed me with great parents that shaped, supported, loved, and picked me up when I fell down.
What are some things that you hold onto that your parents said to you?
