Flesh Under Repair

On  June 2nd, 2011, it was my first full day of the stem cell transplant procedure. This is the time where the “high potency chemotherapy” is given; prior to introducing the stem cells back into my system. I penned this prayer to the Lord.

My God, my Master.

though my flesh is  under repair

and it burns with the doctors’ medicine,

it is Your heart that I long to serve.

I gravitate to Your healing light,

the light of truth and forgiveness.

I owe all that I have to You, Lord.

Through the struggle of my ailment,

You shield my vital parts

from destruction.

I sing Your praises on high.

Your Helper keeps my mind

focused on Your holy job that

You ask of me.

For this I give thanks.

For there is no greater love

in my life than to serve Your will

and thus please You.

Guide me gently to the path

that You want me to walk.
